How sad is it that, before reading articles concerning her death, I knew absolutely nothing about Lena Horne.

From everything read I gathered that she was the epitome of class.

That alone assures she will be sorely missed.

Oh my! You didn't know about her? Oh my gosh, I've admired this woman since I was a child, even though she is older than my Grandma! I watched her on "The Cosby Show" and she appeared on "The Muppets".

Ms. Horne was the forerunner for Dorothy Dandridge, Halle Berry and all of the wonderful actresses of color who came (and will come) after her.

When my sister (older than I) was in high school she became a huge Dorothy Dandridge fan. I remember passing by her bedroom door as she sat and watched Carmen Jones how many times....

I remember Lena Horne from The Cosby Show as well.

Oh, I've watched "Carmen Jones" a few times. Harry Belafonte? Fine! Lol.
